Super excited to share that last week – I partnered with Shoptiques as they launched their presence in Tel Aviv! First stop, I Facebooked live (and t’was my first time ever!) on Shoptiques Facebook directly from Neve Zedek – one of my favorite neighbourhoods in Tel Aviv, to give the world a little taste of the Tel Aviv vibe and style (Curious? Watch the live video here) and to visit one of the Tel Aviv boutiques that is now available on Shoptiques.
I was also asked to style a total look using Shoptiques items only (full outfit details are available below), and the results are presented before you :-D The temps have yet to drop low enough to call what’s going on in Tel Aviv “fall”, but hey – a girl can dream (not sure why, but i’m kinda looking forward to winter this year, which is quite unusual for me), or in my case – put on a semi fall-ish outfit.
I feel like it’s been a while since I got a new lace item (bras don’t coun’t), so I felt like this top was literally calling out my name. I tied a simple black satin ribbon around the neckline (it made me feel fancy), et voila! It’s fall in Tel Aviv :-)
What might one drink on a fall (ish) afternoon in Tel Aviv, you ask? Although I’m not quite ready to give up on Apreol Sprtiz (my ultimate summer drink), I crafted a vodka – berry based cocktail, that better suits the fall vibe. It’s also super easy to make, so that’s one less excuse not to try it at home.
Berry Spritz
Ingredients (makes apx. 4 drinks):
1 cup berry lavender simple syrup (see recipe below)
1/2 cup roses lime juice (see homemade version below)
1/5-2 cups vodka (I used Grey Goose)
1-1/5 cups club soda
Berries and Lavender sprigs (to garnish)
Preparation:
- In a pitcher, over ice: mix the berry simple syrup, lime juice and vodka.
- Add the club soda and mix again.
- Fill the serving glasses with ice (I prefer crushed, if available), pour the cocktail and garnish with berries and lavender sprigs.
Berry/Lavender Simple Syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup berries (I used frozen)
6 lavender sprigs/2 teaspoons cooking grade lavender
Preparation:
1. In a small saucepan, bring the water, sugar and berries to boil – stirring occasionally.
2. Lower the heat, add the lavender, and simmer for 10 minutes – stirring occasionaly.
3. Strain the syrup, firmly pressing the berries against the strainer to squeeze out all their liquid.
4. Cool and store in the fridge until ready to use.
Homemade Lime Juice:
1. Squeeze 1/2 a lemon and 1/2 a lime into a glass/small bowl.
2. In a different cup, stir 1 tablespoon of sugar into a small amount of boiling water until sugar is dissolved. Add to the lemon/lime mix and stir.
Cheers!
